Class listings and description:
Bird of Paradise I – Yet another chicken recipe. This can’t-go-wrong roast chicken should be a staple in every home cook’s repertoire. Tips on keeping it moist; options for presentation /serving and flavor to boot! With all the fixings, it is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
Bird of Paradise II – Put away the can of Crisco and give your fried chicken a new look and flavor. This approach gives you a guilt-free fried chicken that is healthier and finger-licking good.
Squash That! - Butternut, acorn, spaghetti and pumpkin squashes come together in a celebration of Fall. Bring on the maple butter, cinnamon and nutmeg! You’ll never walk by them in the grocery store again.
You Can’t Make Me Eat That! - Brussels sprouts, beets, cabbage, asparagus, eggplant and more. Those ill reputed vegetables
are given a second chance. This promises to be a fun and adventurous class. You might just surprise yourself.
Fall-ing Into Dessert – The fruits of the season are turned into our favorite pies, puddings and custards. Definitely an opportunity
to get your sugar fix.
Souptacular! - Delicious soups to warm up your insides on a cold winter night. Soups on!
For the Love of Cake – A cake-lover and business owner takes you on a sensory journey to bake a perfect and most
versatile cake from scratch. No more hockey pucks!
Veggie Tales – A look at vegetarian dishes and an introduction to the Meatless Monday challenge. Broccoli, celery, it’s gotta
be veggie tales.
Around the World – Ethnic cooking from around the world introduces you to new tastes and new ways of preparing
your everyday foods.
Kids In the Kitchen – Yes, they can cook. Bring along your child and learn some dishes that can be confidently prepared
by your young Iron Chef.
Fast Food Healthy – Reproduce healthier versions of your drive-thru-window favorites at home. Satisfy your hunger
but skip the guilt.
Cake Decorating - Level 1: September 30, 2008 - October 28, 2008
The foundations of a well-decorated cake. Learn how to create the perfect smooth,
and level cake base to receive all your decorations. Also includes 7 borders and
different coloring techniques. 5 sessions; 2½ hours each. $80. Level 2 and 3 and adult classes available.

Sewing - Level 1:
This class is ideal for the beginning sewer. Basics will include how to read
and lay out a pattern, getting to know your sewing machine; basic stitches and
sewing terminology. Project: a decorative pillow.
4 sessions, 2 hours each. $50. Level 2 and 3 and adult classes available
Quilting - Level 1:
Learn the fundamentals of sewing and quilting in this beginner quilting class. Students will learn to baste and cut fabric and use the sewing machine to
create a 12 square quilted wall hanging. 4 session; 2 hours each. $50
Level 2 and 3 and adult classes available.
Money Matters for Teens – Level 1:
Money is powerful, especially when you learn to use it God’s way. In this introductory class, teens will learn what the Bible says about money; how to take control of their money and stay out of debt. They will also learn about stewardship, money basics, planning, banking, spending and credit cards.
Ages 14 – 18 years. 6 sessions, 2 hours each $80.

Best Foot Forward:
Manners and etiquette are more than just about “please” and “thank you” and which folk
to use. They are a way of showing respect and courtesy for other people.
As ambassadors for Christ, teens will learn how to develop a spirit of
hospitality and welcome. They will learn the importance of good
communication skills and a great attitude. They will learn how to conduct
themselves in a number of different social settings. 6 sessions, 2 hours each. $80.
CPR and Baby Sitting Class:
Learn how to effectively manage children, create a safe environment, and
apply emergency techniques. This is an American Heart Association course
that prepares teens, aged 11-17, to perform CPR on an adult, child, and
infant in a safe, timely, and effective manner. CPR certificate will be
provided. Adult classes available. 1 session, 7 hours. Dec and Jan. $50.
